Community Connections makes supporting The Arc’s mission a priority by providing individuals with the opportunity to explore as active members of their community, while learning independent living skills necessary for success.
Community Connections
Enhancing independence and expanding community access.
Community Connections aims to enhance independence across various settings, furthering The Arc of the Ozarks mission by empowering individuals to explore and engage actively within their communities while developing the independent living skills essential for success.
Community Support Programs
Community Connections makes supporting The Arc’s mission a priority by providing individuals with the opportunity to explore as active members of their community, while learning independent living skills necessary for success.
Community Networking
Community Networking is designed to assist individuals with exploring and participating in the community while working on specific social skills. Services are offered individually or in a group setting (Group Community Networking).
Group CN:
“This service allows 2-4 individuals to choose a social activity for the week, fostering collaboration and practicing socially appropriate behaviors like conversation and taking turns.”
Individualized Skill Development (ISD)
Individualized Skill Development supports individuals to develop skills that enhance their independence in both home and community settings.
Equipped for Community Engagement (CI)
Our goal with Community Integration is to equip people with the skills and knowledge for meaningful community engagement. This service is provided individually (1:1) or in a group setting (1:4) and occurs in various locations during the week.
Through 1:1 staff coaching, individuals work on specific skills based on their goals. We tailor the program to meet the needs of everyone to help them increase their independence at home or in the community.
Whether in a group or individual setting, staff teach individuals how to develop relationships with the broader community, participate in recreational activities, and volunteer.
